ANDREA BOCELLI

The big day has almost arrived!
Come Wednesday evening, my wife & I will be enjoying the magnificent voice of
Mr. Andrea Bocelli
in Dallas at the American Airlines Center
For me it is like the experience of a lifetime.

Boy, did the Kinnin's have a wonderful Thanksgiving. My wife's two sisters & their husbands joined us along with our oldest son, Samuel up from UMHB. We had turkey, dressing, potato casserole, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, apple cake, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie & cherry dump cake. It was so delicious and of course I made myself sick. But it was so good getting there.

It's a dreary Monday here in Brownwood, Texas, today! Things here at the library are getting busy because we were closed for Fall break and students have assignments due but could not access the printer until this morning at 7:30am.
Our son, Samuel came in Saturday with four of his friends from UMHB. We had Kimberley, MacKenzie, Mark & Tyler. They had a great time just being away from their campus and we had an amazing time hosting them. They were wonderful guests in our home and always welcome back.

Paula, Samuel, Thomas & I had a wonderful time at the Mary Hardin Baylor vs. Hardin Simmons game this past Saturday, in Belton. This final score was 26 to 0. This game started late due to thunder and lightning. The main thing was the quality time spent as a family. Samuel spent Saturday night with us in our motel room. None of us will forget how we sank into the holes in the middle of our beds. A memory for sure!

Had a blast with Paula at the HPU vs. Belhaven football game on Saturday, September 29th.
To bad we lost, 20 to 19.

Just thought I would share some great photos taken by a good friend of mine, Mr. Odeh Shawrieh!

We had the opportunity to fly to North Carolina this past June. We stayed at the Sea Foam Motel in Nags Head with my two brothers, Ray & Stacey and their wives, Debbie & Kathy. We also were with my sister, Cecilia & her husband, Will. Corey, Danielle & their son Drew were there along with my nephew, Kelly & his girlfriend, Jenna. It was a great time to be sure. I love my family & would like to spend more time with them but distance is the main factor. Paula has always wanted to go to Historic Williamsburg, so this time we finally did it. It was a lot of walking but it was very informative & fun with Celie & Will.
In all it was a good time and so happy that we were able to do it and we did not have that long drive!

A friend of mine sent me this picture, wishing me a Happy Birthday about 2 years ago. For me, I immediately fell in love with it because of all the shades of brown. Brown is my 2nd favorite color, with green being my first. This picture is so inviting to just sit down in the big, comfortable armchair, beside the fireplace and enjoy a great book. Of course for me to really enjoy the book, I must have it completely quiet. Pictures evoke so many words, thoughts and memories. The next time you look at a picture let it speak to you. You never know it just might be what you needed to set the course of your day, in a positive way.

Crazy Rich Asians

Paula & I had a great time, yesterday afternoon watching "Crazy Rich Asians" at the Regal Theater in the Early Mall. Paula said that it would be a good one to purchase. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to all couples.

Andrea Bocelli

So looking forward to seeing & hearing Andrea Bocelli in concert on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018 at the

American Airlines Center
2500 Victory Ave, Dallas, TX

My wonderful wife purchased tickets for us to enjoy this outstanding singer. I know that it is a sacrifice for her because she doesn't like him as much as I do, so I am very appreciative for her doing this for me. Of course it counts for anniversary & Christmas and maybe even my Birthday in January but it is definitely worth it.

Wow, where has the time gone?

This is the beginning of a new Fall semester here at Howard Payne University & I am having a great time working with students and their research. We have a new director here at the Walker Memorial Library, Mrs. Debby Dill. She is going to do a great job in this position because unlike me, she is a real people person and knows just the right words to make others understand without putting them on the defense. With me, I don't know how to be politically correct and even when I try, I still get it wrong. So I will leave all that to her.
I am about to complete my 27th year, here in the library. My plan is to retire in 6 more years. That will get Thomas through his studies at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. He will start there next Fall, 2019. He is a senior this year at Early High School. So very proud of all his accomplishments.
My eldest son, Samuel will be graduating from Mary Hardin Baylor in May, 2019. With Bachelor of Arts degrees in Christian Studies & Public Relations. He just flourished at UMHB and I can't wait to see where the Lord would have him be next.
My dear wife Paula will be retiring after 25 years in public education. She deserves this complete change in her life. I wish we could do this at the same time but in  order for Thomas to attend UMHB, I must remain working at HPU.
